Annual general meeting of Quebec Milk Producers
April 19 and 20, 2023
Longueuil, April 18, 2023 – Les Producteurs de lait du Québec invites representatives of the press to their annual general meeting on Wednesday April 19 and Thursday April 20, 2023. The meeting will take place at the Saint-Hyacinthe Convention Center, in the Maskoutaine room 1-2.
On this occasion, delegates will discuss the major issues of the day and adopt positions that will guide their actions. In particular, they will have to decide on the 2023-2030 strategic planning as well as on the organization’s sustainable development plan.

Wednesday April 19, 2023
9:55 a.m. – Presentation of the 2022 annual report.
11:10 a.m. – Speech by the president of Producteurs de lait du Québec, Daniel Gobeil.
2 p.m. – Presentation of marketing issues, commercial agreements and perspectives.
Thursdday April 20, 2023
8:45 a.m. – Message from the President of the Canadian Dairy Commission (CCL), Jennifer Hayes and presentation of the market situation and 2023 priorities by the CEO of the CDC, Benoit Basillais.
9:15 a.m. – Speech by Pierre Lampron, president of the Milk Farmers of Canada.
1:25 p.m. – Relevance of collective marketing tools to contemporary issues by Anny Royer, holder of the Chair in Agricultural Policy Analysis and Collective Marketing at Laval University.
2 p.m. – Speech by the general president of the Union of Agricultural Producers, Mr. Martin Caron.
3:30 p.m. – Speech by Quebec Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, André Lamontagne. The minister will make an important announcement for the sector in terms of sustainable development and the fight against
climate change.

Les Producteurs de lait du Québec, affiliés à l’UPA, représentent les 4 087 fermes laitières qui livrent quelque 3,60 milliards de litres de lait, dont la vente totalise des recettes à la ferme de plus de 3,61 milliards de dollars. Au Québec, la production et la transformation laitière génèrent 66 000 emplois directs, indirects et induits et contribuent à hauteur de 6,1 milliards de dollars au produit intérieur brut. Finalement, elles entraînent des retombées fiscales de plus de 1 milliard de dollars. Les retombées du secteur laitier sont structurantes puisqu’elles contribuent à l’occupation du territoire et au maintien du tissu social dans l’ensemble des régions. Par leurs activités de commandites et leur programme de dons de lait, Les Producteurs de lait du Québec soutiennent des événements clés de la société québécoise et contribuent à éliminer la faim et à assurer la sécurité alimentaire. Ayant à coeur le développement durable de leur secteur, les Producteurs de lait ont investi 649 millions de dollars, en 2025, en machinerie, en équipements et en bâtiments, notamment pour améliorer leurs pratiques et le confort de leurs animaux.
